Introductions:
Our optimum quality gravity sand filters and pressure sand filters are available in different sizes and material. Our sand filters are operated manually as well as automatically. These are designed and developed to remove turbidity and suspended particles present in the feed water with minimum pressure drop. The Filter consists of a multiple layer of sand with a variety in size and specific gravity.

Working principle:
In sand filters water enters in the filter and percolates through the filter bed. Suspended matter present in the water comes in contact with the media particles and is trapped on the top of the bed. Followed by this, clean water comes out through the filtration nozzles and through the filter outlet. Periodically cleaning of this filter is done by backwashing. Water is introduced in the reverse direction of the service flow that is from the outlet nozzle upwards causing suspension of the turbid material in the filter bed & finally flushing out through the backwash valve. The Filter is then down rinsed & clear water is taken in the system.
Filter media:
Filter Media are used depending on the raw water quality and the treated water quality required. Our range of seven bedded filtration systems custom made to achieve the turbidity level of less than 1 NTU & Suspended solids less than 10 ppm. The Filtration beds comprises of the coarsest beds starting from Pebbles of 30 – 40 mm size to the finest layer of fine sand 0.8 mm to 1.6 mm size.
